Fox News Host Lawrence Jones’ Mom Shares Emotional Story of Choosing Life as a Pregnant Teen Amid Abortion Debate
In a powerful and moving live interview on Fox News, Tameria Jones, mother of political commentator Lawrence Jones, opened up about her courageous decision to keep her son when she was just a pregnant teenager. The conversation comes at a time when the United States remains deeply divided over abortion rights, especially with the ongoing Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case fueling national debate.
Last week marked the first time Lawrence invited his mom to join him on-air during his show, Lawrence Jones Cross Country. Although initially reluctant to share her story publicly, Lawrence felt compelled to ask a question that resonated deeply with many viewers: “Why did you choose to have me?”
A Teen Mom’s Bold Choice
At just 16 years old, Tameria faced a life-altering moment. Despite having been educated about the consequences of unprotected sex, she found herself pregnant and confronted with a difficult decision. But she knew that the responsibility was hers alone.
“It was my responsibility,” Tameria explained. “It wasn’t my mom, my grandparents. I knew that I had to step up to the plate.”
Choosing motherhood meant giving up her dreams and passions. A star basketball player in her youth, Tameria left the sport—and many friends—behind to dedicate herself fully to raising her child.
Strength Through Faith and Community
While the path was tough, Tameria never looked back or regretted her choice. She credited her strength and resilience to her faith, sharing that prayer and honesty about her struggles brought a supportive community into her life.
“The more I prayed, the more I talked to God, and the more that I was honest about my struggle, I had that village that came along,” she reflected during the interview.
Gratitude and Love
At the close of the heartfelt segment, Lawrence expressed deep gratitude to his mother for choosing life. “I’m so grateful that you made that decision,” he said. Tameria replied simply but powerfully, “I love you, son.”
In a nation grappling with difficult questions about life and choice, Tameria’s story offers a personal and inspiring perspective on courage, faith, and the power of responsibility.
