IT’S A GIRL! Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera Share Emotional Reveal After Raising Three Sons — A Dream Come True for the Today Show Star
After years of raising a lively trio of boys, Today show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and her husband Brian Fichera have shared heartwarming news that’s bringing joy to fans everywhere — they’re expecting a baby girl.
Known for her infectious energy and relatable charm, Dylan made the announcement live on air in a touching family moment that left the studio and viewers smiling through happy tears. For Dylan and Brian, who already have three sons — Calvin, Oliver, and Russell — this new pregnancy is the fulfillment of a cherished wish.
The Big Reveal That Melted Hearts
During a segment teased as a “family update,” Dylan stood alongside Brian with their boys nearby. Together, they opened an envelope live on air, releasing a cascade of pink confetti. “It’s a girl!” Dylan gasped, her joy unmistakable.
The studio erupted with applause — Savannah Guthrie wiped away tears, and Al Roker wrapped Dylan in a warm hug, all moved by the genuine emotion in the room.
“I’m still in shock,” Dylan said, laughing through tears. “After three boys, we thought we’d be outnumbered forever. This little girl is already so loved.”
A Journey Full of Joy and a Bit of Chaos
Dylan and Brian have shared their parenting adventures openly, from pregnancy cravings and sleepless nights to the daily hustle of raising three energetic boys under 10. Though she’s proudly embraced life as a “boy mom,” Dylan admitted she quietly hoped for a daughter.
“I never said it out loud because I didn’t want it to seem like I wasn’t grateful for my boys,” she revealed. “But every time we learned we were having another boy, I held onto a tiny flicker of hope that maybe—just maybe—we’d have a girl one day.”
That day has now arrived.
Brian’s Take: “She Already Has Me Wrapped Around Her Finger”
Brian, a writer and producer, shared his excitement. “We were floored. We love our boys and their chaos, but welcoming a little girl? It’s like starting a new chapter. She’s already got me wrapped around her finger, and she’s not even born yet.”
He joked about needing to brush up on “Barbie knowledge” and admitted he’s already Googled how to braid hair.
A Girl in a House of Brothers — What’s Next?
Their home is famously lively, filled with Nerf guns, soccer balls, and nonstop energy. Dylan says her sons are thrilled about the new baby girl.
“They’re already planning who gets to hold her first,” she shared. “Calvin wants to teach her to ride a bike. Ollie says he’ll be her protector. Rusty just keeps pointing at my belly and saying, ‘baby!’”
The couple hasn’t announced a due date yet, but Dylan said the baby is expected this winter — just in time for the holidays.
“We’re calling her our Christmas miracle,” she smiled.
Fans and Co-Hosts Shower Dylan With Love
As the announcement aired, social media buzzed with congratulations and heartfelt messages. Celebrities, colleagues, and longtime viewers who have followed Dylan’s motherhood journey expressed their joy.
Hoda Kotb posted, “Tears and chills! So, so happy for you!”
Former Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager called the moment “pure magic.”
What’s Next for Dylan Dreyer?
Dylan plans to continue working throughout her pregnancy, joking that “this baby will be doing the weather with me from the womb.” She’s also considering a new podcast or digital series documenting life with three boys and a baby girl — “if I can find time between diaper changes and dance recitals,” she laughed.
For now, she’s focused on staying healthy, savoring these last months, and preparing to welcome her long-awaited daughter.
And from the looks of it, that little girl is already the star of the show.
