Think you know the disco classic ‘Yes Sir, I Can Boogie’? Well, think again, because the hugely talented Scottish musician RuMac recently delivered a version of the track on Britain’s Got Talent that beats any other version in terms of uniqueness and originality. Covering the song using only an accordion and his extraordinary vocals, RuMac had almost everyone in the crowd at his audition on their feet and dancing to his unusual rendition.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, at first many audience members seemed utterly confused by RuMac’s act, with the singer passionately whispering the first verse of the song while playing some accompanying chords on his accordion. It was only when he stepped the pace up a notch and broke out into the song’s famous chorus that the crowd really started to get on board with their performance, and going by the looks on the judges’ faces, it looked like they were loving it too!

Guest judge KSI seemed particularly shocked at the performance that was unfolding before his eyes, with his mouth wide open with amazement as RuMac’s act gradually picked up the pace. Simon Cowell, meanwhile, looked decidedly unimpressed at first, but when he realized the audience was really beginning to warm to RuMac, it seemed as though he did the same.

RuMac’s act might be a little unusual, but he’s been perfecting his art for a few years now, particularly through performing at pubs and bars in his native Scotland. The video below shows the electrifying intensity of a live RuMac show, and following his Britain’s Got Talent audition, I have no doubt that he will be drawing bigger crowds than he ever has before.

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing genuinely original performers on Britain’s Got Talent, particularly those whose act is a little bit unusual or different. RuMac is a perfect example of one of these acts, and I was cheering at the television when I saw that he got a resounding yes from three of the Britain’s Got Talent judges, putting him through to the next round of the competition. As for what he will bring to his next performance… that’s anybody’s guess!

RuMac’s audacious reinterpretation of ‘Yes Sir, I Can Boogie’ has certainly made waves with his accordion and vocal prowess. His Britain’s Got Talent performance was a testament to his creativity and flair, winning over even the most skeptical judges.
