Detroit rapper arrested for felony drug warrant

Detroit rapper Sada Baby spoke out about his recent arrest in Macomb County.

Sada Baby, whose real name is Casada Sorrell, was arrested on April 8 by Shelby Township Police for a felony drug warrant in Sterling Heights, sources told Local 4.

Sorrell was arrested in Sterling Heights earlier this year for driving without a license. At the time, police said “possible illegal contraband” was found in his truck. The contraband was taken for evidence, and charges were pending further investigation.

According to the rapper, police claimed he had cocaine on him after further investigation. He denied those allegations, “Cap. . . super cap.”

Cap means it’s a lie or exaggeration.

Instead, he said he had ten Percocets with him.

He denies ever having cocaine or heroin in his life. He also said he did have a license with him, even though police accused him of not having it with him.

“I ain’t never play with my nose in my life,” he said during an interview with Pacman Jones.

“I appreciate everybody,” said the rapper. “Anybody who got a brain can pay attention to me, getting targeted for me living where I live at, for me doing what I’m doing. A lot of street officers are too lazy to just type my name into Google and see what I actually am, to think that I would be selling dope to live in a house as big as I live in, as far as I live outside of the city.”

He said his lawyer dropped his charge to a $200 fine, “I can’t do nothing about it. I’m glad I got it over with.”

He said he’s returning to court and plans to win his case again.

The 32-year-old rapper gained recognition in 2018 for his hit song “Bloxk Party,” which went viral and led to his signing with Asylum Records. His debut studio album, “Skuba Sada 2,” a sequel to his 2017 mixtape, peaked at No. 125 on the US Billboard 200.

Sada Baby’s hit song “Whole Lotta Choppas” also gained significant popularity on TikTok and received a remix from New York rapper Nicki Minaj, which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100.
