Skip Bayless was one of the many following the action between the Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty. Clark, who was coming off a tough outing against the Atlanta Dream struggled to get going from the 3-point line against the defending champions on Saturday.

At halftime, Clark was 5-14 from the field and 2-9 from downtown as the Fever led 82-72. The sophomore guard had already recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists in just over 31 minutes, but her shooting sputtered early on. This led to Bayless taking to X (formerly Twitter) and asking Clark to be more assertive with her shot-making.

Skip Bayless Offers Crisp Advice To Clark After Rough Shooting Start Against Liberty

Bayless minced no words when he asked Clark to shoot the ball like she meant it to. “COME ON, CAITLIN, SNAP OUT OF IT. SHOOT IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT. YOU’RE CAPABLE OF MAKING 10 IN A ROW,” he tweeted.

It appeared that Bayless’ wish did come true as Clark regained her shooting touch and one of the 3’s resulted in a four-point play after being fouled by Rebekka Gardner.

This was followed by a logo buzzer-beater to end the half as the Fever pulled headed into the locker room with a 10-point lead. Bayless was excited as he followed his previous message lauding the guard for her two triples.

“CAITLIN CLARK EXPLODES OUT OF HER 3-POINT SLUMP, ENDS 3RD QUARTER WITH A LOGO BUZZER BEATER AS FEVER SURGE INTO 8-POINT LEAD VS DEFENDING CHAMPS,” he wrote.

At the time of writing, Fever looked in command with Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell all in double-digits alongside Clark. Boston had 23 points and 17 rebounds to show for as the second half saw the momentum tilt toward the Liberty.
