DONALD Trump has warned Elon Musk he could be forced out of the US – reigniting a war of words between the world’s most powerful man and its richest.

The president said he could consider deporting Musk after the South African-born billionaire slammed his flagship “One Big Beautiful Bill”.

When White House reporters asked if he would deport the South African-born entrepreneur and US citizen, Trump replied: “We’ll have to take a look.”

The president even threatened to unleash the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) “monster” to “eat” the tech billionaire.

He said: “We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”

In May, Musk exited his role as Trump’s “secretary of cost-cutting” at the newly formed DOGE.

His exit came a day after criticising Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill”.

Trump said he believed Musk was attacking his marquee tax bill.

“Elon may get more subsidies than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,” Trump said in a Truth Social post, referring to DOGE.

“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

He claimed Musk was annoyed that it had dropped measures to support electric vehicles (EVs).

He said: “He’s losing his EV mandate. He’s very upset about things, but you know, he could lose a lot more than that, I can tell you right now. Elon can lose a lot more than that.

Elon Musk blasts Donald Trump’s ‘disgusting’ tax and spending bill in wild rant
“No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.”

In response, Musk said on his own social media platform X, “I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”

Musk, the world’s richest person, was Trump’s biggest donor in the 2024 election and initially maintained a near-constant presence at the newly elected president’s side.

But what started as a disagreement about the Republicans’ new “One Big Beautiful Bill” has now turned into a public feud – with both sides taking swipes at each other.

Musk has argued that the legislation would greatly increase the national debt and erase the savings he says he achieved through DOGE.

The SpaceX chief posted on X on Saturday that the bill would be political suicide for the Republican Party.

He suggested he would work to get members of Congress who vote for the bill out of their seats next year.

“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame,” he wrote on X.

“And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”

A few hours later, Musk followed up with a post claiming he would create a new political party if the bill passed.

“If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day,” he wrote.

“Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”

How the spat between the two has unfolded

– JUNE 3

Musk attacks Trump’s top legislative priority – a sweeping tax-cut and spending bill.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” he wrote on his X platform.

– JUNE 5, around noon ET:

Trump says he anticipates Musk criticizing him personally.

“Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “He said the most beautiful things about me, and he hasn’t said bad about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next. But I’m, I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”

Musk responds to Trump’s comments on X: “I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”

He called the bill too expensive and said that it would undermine his work with the US DOGE, which he said was becoming the “whipping boy for everything”.

The billionaire wrote in one post: “It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country the PORKY PIG PARTY!!”

Musk ended his dramatic 130-day White House stint after leading DOGE for six months.

Speaking to the Washington Post, the billionaire said: “DOGE is just becoming the whipping boy for everything.

“Something bad would happen anywhere, and we would get blamed for it even if we had nothing to do with it.”
