CAITLIN Clark, without hesitation, revealed her favorite athlete of all time as the new WNBA approaches.

The Indiana Fever superstar is wrapping up her first full offseason in the WNBA.

Last weekend, Clark appeared at Augusta National Golf Club to attend the Masters.

The 23-year-old was interviewed at a Mercedes-Benz-sponsored event in Augusta and was asked numerous questions, including one about the athlete who paved the way for her influence in sports.

Clark took little time to share that her “favorite athlete” growing up was tennis legend Serena Williams.

“I loved Serena Williams. Like, she was probably my favorite athlete of all time,” Clark said.

“I just, you know, thought she was the greatest thing ever – and then also, I was a young girl being able to look up to that.

“I thought that was incredible.”

Clark also revealed a personal story about her brief time playing tennis as a kid.

“I got kicked out of tennis class when I was like 10, so that didn’t last long,” Clark said and laughed.

While Clark has a long way to go in terms of providing the impact that the 23-time major women’s singles title-winner Williams, she’s off to a stellar start.

Clark is the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, won the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, and helped the Fever make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

She has also given women’s basketball and the WNBA plenty of popularity and attention.

Last year, Clark was asked about her help in growing the league, and she was quick to give credit to other players.

“There’s been so many amazing players to come before me and laid such a great foundation for me to be able to play on this stage in front of crowds like this,” Clark told ESPN.

Clark and the rest of the WNBA will prepare for the new 2025 season, which begins on May 16.
