Chicago Sky star Angel Reese had an interesting post-game response to the foul she drew on Caitlin Clark during Saturday’s season opener against the Indiana Fever.
The WNBA treated fans by pitting Angel Reese and the Sky against her archrival, Caitlin Clark and the Fever in the season opener, a 93-58 Indiana victory. Sure enough, things got heated between the two sophomores in the third quarter.
As Reese tried to score an easy basket in the third quarter, she was fouled by Clark and fell to the ground. A furious Reese went over to confront Clark but was quickly restrained, while officials hit Indiana’s star with a flagrant foul.
Angel Reese was asked about the foul in her post-game press conference.
“Basketball play. Refs got it right. Move on,” Reese said, per The Athletic’s James Boyd.
Though the Sky were no contest for the Fever on Saturday, Reese had a strong individual performance with 12 points, 17 rebounds and one assist. Clark picked up where she left off from her historic rookie year, tallying a game-high 20 points, 10 assists and as many rebounds.
