Stuart Skinner gives up two goals in quick succession in his first game back in the net.
The Edmonton Oilers got out to an early lead in Game 3 of their second round series against the Vegas Golden Knights, but unfortunately that lead quickly evaporated.
Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner is making his first appearance since losing his net to backup goaltender Calvin Pickard earlier in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and although he had a strong start to the period things would quickly turn bad for Skinner. After his team took a 2 goal lead in the first period, Skinner would cough up a pair of goals in quick succession.
The two goals would come only 54 seconds apart, with the first coming from Nicolas Roy who is quickly becoming a thorn in Edmonton’s side in this series.
The goal from Roy was quickly followed up by a goal courtesy of Reilly Smith who not only beat Stuart Skinner on the play but blew through the entire Oilers defense before beating Skinner on a great individual effort.
Not the start that Skinner would have wanted but thankfully he’s got at least 40 more minutes in this game to shake off the rust.
