Much More to Enjoy from the Justin Turner Walk Off

Before we get to the regularly-scheduled Bullets, we have to share much more fun from last night’s win – specifically, the walk-off double by veteran Justin Turner.

Firstly, gotta watch it again:

It just had to feel so good for everyone involved. A great win will always get you up, but for it to be Justin Turner, a beloved veteran in the clubhouse, who has been off to such a slow start? I’m sure everyone was extra thrilled about it. Can’t say I expected it to take until May 13 for Turner’s first extra-base hit on the season, but *IF* it were going to happen, what a way for it to play out.

“I was even talking to my wife [about it] this morning,” said Cubs starter Ben Brown, per Cubs.com. “J.T. is probably one of the best teammates I’ve ever had in my life. We’re so thankful for him …. I’m just super, super grateful that he’s even had time for me [for one-on-one conversations]. He’s done that with every single guy on the team. His value is crazy for us.”

A happy Craig Counsell:

Justin Turner gets the credit and such, but Nico Hoerner’s face knowing he was about to score the winning run on his birthday is what really, eh hem, takes the cake:

I like how Vidal Brujan is telling Nico he can stay up, but Nico is like eff that, I’m sliding:

Ryan Dempster was so excited that he wanted the high-five from Boog, but he was left hanging because Boog was still calling the play:
