Expectations Getting High for Montreal Canadiens Youngster

Now that the Montreal Canadiens’ season is officially over, and the end-of-season reviews have been completed, it’s time to focus on upcoming acquisitions.

In that regard, all the management’s efforts will now be directed toward the 2025 NHL Draft, which, believe it or not, is approaching quite quickly.

Let’s remember that the Canadiens hold the 16th and 17th overall picks, and this confirms that Kent Hughes is in an excellent position to potentially draft a familiar name that has often come up in discussions this season.

We’re obviously talking about Justin Carbonneau.

All the stars seem to be perfectly aligning.

Let’s recall that major figures from the Montreal Canadiens, including Nick Bobrov and Donald Audette, spent a lot of time on Montreal’s North Shore this season, and they really showed interest in Carbonneau.

They even met with him.

2025 Draft: Nick Bobrov on the Case of Justin Carbonneau

As you know, take it for what it’s worth.. but the Montreal Canadiens really seem to be seriously interested in Carbonneau, and we’re talking about a player that all the experts project to go between the 13th and 18th overall picks.

Another reminder: the Canadiens currently hold the 16th and 17th overall picks.

Will 1+1 equal two?

Justin Carbonneau, 18 years old, recorded 89 points in 62 games this season, including 46 goals, with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the QMJHL.

He added three goals in five playoff games.

He’s definitely a name Canadiens fans should remember heading into the NHL Draft.
