The Montreal Canadiens were physically dominated, according to many, in their series against the Washington Capitals.

As reported by many experts, the Canadiens may have already found their horse for the next playoffs.

Everyone agrees.

Kent Hughes said it, Jeff Gorton clearly said it, and many experts (including Renaud Lavoie) have mentioned it, heading into the next playoffs, the Canadiens need a player who hits, scores goals, elevates his game in the postseason, and has a strong physical presence.

Well, it turns out the Canadiens may have already found that player, and he’s currently playing with the Laval Rocket.

Logan Mailloux is exactly the player the Canadiens need

Pascal Vincent had a lot to say about him.

“He’s playing the best hockey I’ve seen him play so far.

In terms of consistency, movement on the ice, breaking up plays, decision-making with the puck, what he does on special teams..

I think he’s playing his best hockey.

He’s a key piece in our current success.”

So why trade him?

Mailloux truly represents everything the Canadiens need right now.

As Tony Marinaro explains in the clip above, Mailloux is a big horse who can deliver punishing hits, log big minutes, play on the edge to throw opponents off, and on top of that, he’s a right-handed defenseman with a devastating shot.

He’s exactly what the Canadiens need for their next playoff run, so before trading him, it’s a “think long and hard” situation.

And you, what’s your opinion on this?
