Alex Ovechkin confirms that he’s not retiring

“I’m not f****** leaving!” – Ovi in Wolf of Wall Street… probably.

The Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins both close out their regular season against each other this evening in the latest edition of the Sid vs Ovi Battle.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will watch the playoffs from his couch for the third consecutive season, while Ovechkin and the Capitals take on the Montreal Canadiens in Round 1.

Crosby is signed through the 2026-27 season, while Ovechkin is just signed through next season. With Ovechkin recently passing Wayne Gretzky as the NHL’s all-time scoring leader earlier this month though, there had been some chatter that he might actually pack it in this upcoming season. To that Ovi calls BS.

Ovechkin confirmed to the media today that he’s not retiring this offseason and that we’ll get at least one more season of Sid vs Ovi.
