US Senator Jim Banks is calling on Angel Reese to apologize.

The WNBA found in an investigation that alleged “hateful comments” directed toward Reese during her game against the Indiana Fever were “not substantiated.”

“We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court,” the league said in a statement.

“Based on information gathered to date, including from relevant fans, team, and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.

“The WNBA is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in enforcing our fan code of conduct.”

The investigation was launched over claims of alleged hateful comments made inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Fever. Hateful comments to the Sky forward were at the center of the investigation.

Reese said, “There’s no place in this league” for racism and discrimination, and “obviously in the moment it’s hard to hear” comments being made toward her during the game.

Now that the league has concluded that no evidence has been found, US Senator Jim Banks wants Reese to apologize.

The announcement led to Sen. Jim Banks, R-Ind., publicly making an X post and writing, “Angel Reese owes Indiana fans an apology.”

The WNBA said it was unable to substantiate allegations of “hateful fan comments” directed toward Angel Reese during a game against the Indiana Fever.

Reese had much to say amid the investigation. However, she has been quiet about the findings.

She is unlikely to speak out as the story has basically died down.
