Caitlin Clark may always stay in the news for the Indiana Fever, but this time, her teammate Sophie Cunningham isn’t letting Clark dull her shine.

Just days after suffering a painful leg injury in a game against the Connecticut Sun and somehow ending up with a chipped tooth in the chaos, the Indiana Fever guard is turning heads for an entirely different reason.

According to head coach Christie Sides, she’s already been ruled out for the Fever’s next matchup against the Washington Mystics. But that hasn’t kept Cunningham from keeping spirits high and fans entertained.

Sophie Cunningham: Bikini, Broken Tooth, And Big Energy

Cunningham took to TikTok on Tuesday to poke a little fun at her current situation. Wearing a tiny bikini top and flashing a wide grin, obviously with a chipped front tooth, she asked viewers to “tell me you play in the W without telling me you play in the W.” The quick-cut video then revealed the broken tooth, likely a battle scar from the same game against Connecticut.

The post quickly caught fire. Fans poured in with concern and admiration alike. “Hope your tooth and ankle is okay,” one user wrote.

Another chimed in, “Chipped tooth and injured ankle. Damn.”

Some couldn’t help but joke. “The nails. The tooth. I cannot,” someone commented.

While another added, “Still and will always be a goddess. Legit perfection!”

Cunningham’s sense of humor landed well with most, but a few viewers expressed genuine concern. One said they’d noticed something was off during the broadcast. “During the game I was like, ‘She’s either looking on the ground for a tooth or a contact…’ but the broadcasters never said anything so I thought it was just me.”

Back in Indiana, Fever head coach Christie Sides gave a more optimistic update on Cunningham’s recovery. “I think we got good news from both of their MRIs, as good of news as you can get,” Sides told reporters. “It’s a day-to-day thing. We’re looking forward to hopefully them returning at some point sooner rather than later.”

Injuries aside, Cunningham continues to bring energy and personality both on and off the court. With a few days of rest and some dental work on the horizon, fans are clearly eager to see her back smile and all.
