DiJonai Carrington has shared a post regarding a WNBA referee calling security on her this week.

Carrington and the Dallas Wings played the Chicago Sky on Thursday night in what turned out to be a losing effort. The home team claimed a 97-92 victory to record their first win of the season.

It appears that DiJonai wasn’t happy with some of the calls and had an animated conversation with one of the refs after the game. The official, Roy Gulbeyan, ended up calling security for her, although what was said remains unknown.

Refs summoning security for players is undoubtedly a rare sight. It probably doesn’t even happen in the NBA, let alone the women’s game. But Gulbeyan wasn’t taking any chances, prompting Carrington to call him out for “Microaggressions.”

“Security…, when I’m literally having a civil conversation is insane,” she wrote in a repost. “Mind you, he called the ‘sEcUrItY’ over there.”

“Draymond green literally abuses refs every game. If they have to call security for you, you know you f***ed up,” one fan pointed out.

DiJonai Carrington is the reigning Most Improved Player from last season. She was traded to the Wings in a four-team affair during the recent offseason after averaging 12.7 points and 5.0 rebounds a game for the Connecticut Sun in 2024.

She’s usually not one to walk away quietly, so her reaction isn’t all that surprising.
